Previously they have shown on Curacao as owners of Landhuis Bona Vista that they know very well what they are doing. Huize Batavia was also taken care of with love, wisdom, and a lot of perseverance.
The spacious living area has a gallery wrapped around it and is divided into a library and a salon. The beautiful original wooden floor has been restored and the kitchen that was erected in one of the galleries has been completely removed. The living area is now being used as a petit restaurant where traditional high teas are being served on the weekend. A restaurant permit is also available.
Instead, a beautiful modern kitchen has been realized in the side wing. This is where the craftsmanship of kitchen building and love for cooking starts. Behind the kitchen is a very spacious bedroom with a bathroom.
The porch adjacent to the kitchen and living room has many nice corners to enjoy and from here you can enjoy the view of the picturesque courtyard, the swimming pool, and the city center of Curacao.
Behind the living area, you will find another bedroom with a bathroom. Most windows and shutters have been replaced with durable Cumaru hardwood (class I), as in this room.
Via the stairs from the living room, you enter the attic of Huize Batavia where to everyone's surprise there is a spacious suite, consisting of an en suite room, bathroom, and bedroom. Of course, this bedroom has, just like all others, air conditioning.
Through the porch at the kitchen, a staircase leads you to the romantic courtyard at the rear where you get to the pool. Despite the fact that you live in the middle of the city, the garden is quiet and peaceful. The swimming pool has been realized in the original water basin in 1742. Two apartments have been built on the back of the site, these are not monumental. One of them has a bedroom, kitchen/living room, and porch. Between the two apartments is the gate to Otrobanda. From here you walk to the bakery in the morning or have a chat with the friendly local residents.
The ground floor is currently in use by the Blood Bank of Curacao. This rental contract will run for at least another 3 years so that you are guaranteed a pleasant income stream. For specific details, please contact us.
On the side of the monument is an elongated building that is currently not rented out. In the past it has been rented to a gym, which also yields a return on investment. This building is not monumental. These may therefore be replaced or changed.
